Competition winner Charlie, shares his excitement at winning a flying lesson

We recently ran a competition with the chance to win a free introductory flying lesson in FTA's DA40 aircraft, and we are thrilled to announce that Chichester-based Charlie was the lucky winner. Charlie is an aviation enthusiast and keen to train to become a commercial pilot one day. He's already visited his list of pilot schools and we are pleased to hear that FTA is one of his top choices. Charlie was understandably excited about his flight which was delivered by Nidal. Here he talks about his flight and what he learnt from the experience.

easyJet pilot Tim, explains how he completed his training while working in Air Traffic

We managed to get some of Tim's time, a modular student from FTA who since completing his training, has been pretty much non stop.

Soon after finishing his advanced pilot training at FTA, he went into a role as a calibration pilot and travelled around the world. He's now secured a First Officer position with easyJet and realised his dream of becoming an airline pilot.

Tim has worked extremely hard to be where he is now. He once worked in Air Traffic at Brighton City Airport while completing his training, a job which is in itself a demanding role. However, he made it work and completed his training at the end of 2016 before swapping his headset in air traffic control for a seat in an aircraft as a commercial pilot. It's been our pleasure to be part of his story and we hope to stay in touch with Tim as he progresses through his career.

FTA graduate Demetris offers an insight into his journey to becoming a pilot

Completing our Modular CPL IR course with us just last week, Demetris explains to FTA what made him become a pilot, his journey to where he is and his plans for the future. When he is not studying and training, he is working on his YouTube channel - Great Flyer Aviation which has nearly a quarter of a million followers. He regularly posts videos of his journey and has a massive fan base.
