Network and make friends for life at FTA

It's people that make the real difference to your learning and personal development. FTA cultivates an environment where cadets are encouraged to share in celebrating each other’s success and support each other through their training.

We regularly organise social events for our students and our UK campus offers the best of all worlds including city life, rural and seaside living.

Our campus in Spain also has much to offer. Student's live in the beautiful, cosmopolitan town centre and the Mediterranean climate offers great weather with 342 days of sunshine per year.

It's not only our students but also the teaching, operations and administration teams that make FTA unique. Our Flight Instructors are dedicated, knowledgeable and approachable and create the perfect environment in which to help you succeed. FTA Graduate, William describes what it's like to train here:

"At FTA you are encouraged throughout your training to be an individual and the personalized approach to training with the incredibly low student to instructor ratio only enhances that mantra. FTA gave me renewed confidence and consistency throughout my training and has helped facilitate achieving my dreams and I cannot be more thankful to them for that.

If I was to give anyone advice, it would be to do as much research as you can and know exactly what you are looking to get out of your training as you are committing a large amount of time and effort and it is important to get it right. Thanks to the strong first series pass I achieved at FTA and the fantastic support I received, I am now happily flying out of my home island of the Isle of Man for our Air Ambulance service and I could not be happier."

Teruel Airport, Spain

Our satellite campus in Teruel, Spain, is used for our flight Instructor and some of our integrated courses. The Airport is light, modern and air conditioned with the main teaching and recreation area based on the ground floor.

The runway is 60 metres wide and nearly 3 kilometres long, making it ideal for elementary flight phases.

As one of the smallest capitals in Spain, Teruel has a population of 35,000. What makes it so special is its main centre, La Plaza del Torico. At all hours of the day, the heart of the city is dancing with activities, and has been since the Middle Ages. From its main festivals to painting contests, charity events, and music festivals, this square is constantly bustling. Teruel Airport is situated near to Valencia and is easily accessible from Barcelona Airport and Madrid Airport.

Assistance with finding suitable, local accommodation is provided by our Student Services Assistant, George email
