Technology is constantly evolving and is ever present in even the simplest of tasks that we do on a daily basis. Take, for example, the luxury of being able to travel from London to New Zealand in under 24 hours or being able to FaceTime relatives thousands of miles away. These are all things that would have seemed like nothing more than a delusional fantasy back in the early 1900s, when powered flight was in its infancy.

We recently caught up with FTA Integrated student Taariq Iqbal, who commenced his pilot training with FTA in 2016. Taariq recently completed his ATPL theory exams and is about to commence his commercial pilot training on our Multi-Engine Diamond DA42 aircraft. We spoke to Paulina, a recent graduate of FTA about what she thought of the gender gap in aviation. Paulina speaks openly about what inspired her to start her pilot training, the sacrifices she made to realise her dream and what advice she would give to anyone interested in pilot training.
